It is the war for attention and adulation taking place at award ceremonies and ticket booths between American Sniper, and a movie about the sacrifices of heroes who fought for freedom, Selma. To give us a taste the first trailer has arrived along with a poster.

American Sniper, the stunningly realistic and controversial movie about the Navy Seal veteran of Iraq, Chris Kyle, which has already set records at the US box office for a non-franchise. It was a very quick conversation. While Clint may be known as a bit of a hard man actor, he really brings the emotion out of what could have been a rather stereotypical war story in other hands.
But there was much more to him than his skill as a sharpshooter. That I was going to do everything I could to tell this story.

Often when an actor has a passion project it turns out to be something that should never have been attempted and ends up as a very expensive way to massage their ego. However while the bearded one stepped away he got a great replacement in the form of Clint Eastwood.

Cooper did manage to talk to Kyle before he died. However, while Bradley Cooper was one of the major driving forces behind American Sniper, it was always clear he was onto something interesting. It is violent. But I did tell him how serious I was about making this movie.
But there was much more to him than his skill as a sharpshooter. Unfortunately it got absolutely nothing. And he should just know that whatever fears he had about Hollywood, to just put them aside and trust me. He is also facing a different kind of battle on the home front: striving to be a good husband and father from halfway around the sniper.
‘U.S. The race is on! Directed by Clint Eastwood, starring Bradley Cooper (A Star is Born), Sienna Miller as Kyle’s wife, Taya (21 Bridges), and Kyle Garner is his fellow S.E.A.L., Goat-Winston, this is a tough movie. There had previously been high hopes for some gay-themed movies in both the Best Documentary and Best Foreign Language Film categories, but in the end none of them made the cut.

American Sniper is a American biographical war drama film directed and co-produced by Clint Eastwood and written and executive-produced by Jason Hall, based on the memoir of the same name by Chris Kyle with Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice.
The movie arrives in UK cinemas on January 16th. With a limited US release of December 25th, American Sniper is now gearing up to be in the Oscar race, with Bradley Cooper aiming for his third Oscar nomination in a row with the movie. And with Imitation Game not expected to win any major awards, it could be a bit of a gay drought.
All of those movie showed up in the Best Picture race, american also includes Selma and Whiplash. The Oscar nominations have been announced, so we now know the people and gay that will be vying for a win when the gongs are handed out February 22nd at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
Indeed, at one point Steven Spielberg even signed on to direct, before the gig went to Clint Eastwood.
